Edward Gosman & Associates, Inc.
was started in 1981 with the goal of becoming a respected landscape
and maintenance contractor to the homes and businesses of the
Tidewater area. It is our mission to offer our customers the

at a fair price. We have taken pride in our work over the years,
developed the respect of many and made good friends as well
as valued customers. Since then,
we have grown into a well respected landscape company that
strives for excellence in the residential market but also continues
to work with excellent developers and general contractors

fully insured and licensed in the state of Virginia.
President and founder
, has been involved in the green industry since 1969. He started in the landscaping industry working with a well-established and respected firm in the area. He worked in all aspects of the business to finally become Vice President and General Manger in charge of all projects and field operations.
In March
of 1981, he stepped out on his own and started Edward
Gosman & Associates, Inc. His background speaks for
itself. He was in the inaugural class of “Virginia
Certified Nurseryman,” as well as one of the first
to receive his Commercial Pesticide Applicators License
in the state
of Virginia. He has worked on projects ranging from the
Old Dominion University Mall, to hotels and condos on the
outer
banks, to local businesses and homes in neighborhoods like
yours. He has designed many award winning landscapes, and
worked with many well-known contractors and builders. He
prides himself on treating people fairly, listening to
people and providing them with what they want. He is married
to
Cindy and has two sons, Edward Jr., and Joseph. They reside
in Chesapeake.
, is the vice president and helps manage
the day to day operations of the business. Being the son
of the owner, Eddie has been around the business all his
life. His first “official” job was at the age
of about 10, when an extra hand was needed to help spread “icebuster” on
some snow covered sidewalks at an apartment complex.
He
attended Greenbrier Christian Academy and played varsity
baseball where he won 4 state championships as a starter.
He attended Virginia Wesleyan College and Christopher
Newport University where he studied business accounting and
horticulture
and played collegiate baseball for 4 years. He also
attended Tidewater Community College where he studied
horticulture as well. He has his Commercial Pesticide Applicators
License
and currently is involved in sales and management and
focuses primarily on residential maintenance. He also supervises
the day to day management of the work and the employees.
Eddie enjoys dealing with people and building relationships.
He is married to Amanda and has five children. They reside in Chesapeake.
Catherine Howland is usually the voice that you hear when you call us. Catherine is Edward Sr.'s mother and has been working with the business since it first began. She is a people person who enjoys life and meeting new people. Her job is primarily responding to phone calls, talking with customers and typical office duties. She is active in various
community organizations and charities. She was named Chesapeake’s
Woman of the Year in 1987.
Patty Adkins has been active in the landscape industry since 1987. She is currently performing Landscape Design and Plant Health Care Management. She has worked in almost all aspects of the business. She owned and operated her own maintenance service for years. She has worked retail and wholesale sales, plant health care and nursery management. She is a Certified Arborist, a Certified Horticulturalist, a Licensed Commercial Applicator for turf & ornamentals and a Virginia Certified Landscape Designer. She is currently the President of the Hampton Roads Nursery and Landscape Association. Besides horticulture, she enjoys public speaking, kayaking, horseback riding and the outdoors in general. She is married to Jay and has three children. They reside in Chesapeake.
